Student plans magazine drive for literacy

March 19, 2009

Penn State Brandywine junior Sophia Obinyan is planning a magazine drive for literacy for National Honors Service Day on Friday, April 17.

All donated magazines will be given to the Community Council for Mental Health and Retardation for clients learning how to read and develop literacy skills, and donations will be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Pennsylvania to generate funds for the organization. Any type of magazine, from any year is acceptable, as long as the material is appropriate. The drive will last until April 17.

The items can be dropped off in the Main Building Lounge, and at the main entrances of the Tomezsko Classroom Building, the Commons Building and the Vairo Library at Penn State Brandywine, located at 25 Yearsley Mill Road in Media.
