Last chance to donate blood to Red Cross on campus this semester

University Park, Pa. -- Don’t miss your last chance to donate blood at Penn State this school year. The next two weeks will be the last for this semester’s University Park blood drives. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Blood donations from Penn State help supply over 100 hospitals in the Greater Alleghenies Region. Every single blood donation makes a difference.

The Beach Bash Blood Drives are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 21, 22, and 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the HUB, Alumni Hall; and Tuesday, April 28 in Wagner Building Rear Annex from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our Beach Bash Blood Drives feature Pizza Hut Pizza, snow cones, games and prizes. All presenting donors will also receive a pair of Red Cross flip-flops while supplies last.

Wednesday, April 28 is the Block and Bridle Beef Up the Blood Supply drive, the last of the semester. The canteen will feature hamburgers provided by Penn State Java and the Pennsylvania Beef Council.

Anyone who has donated fewer than four times this school year may be eligible. If you haven’t donated since February or earlier, you’re definitely eligible. If you’ve never donated, there’s no better time to start.

Visit to make your appointment for an upcoming blood drive. Appointments will get priority status over walk- in donors.  Walk- in donors will be accommodated as space allows. Give the gift of life this spring; donate blood.
