Penn State DuBois commencement set for May 16

The 39th commencement at Penn State DuBois is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, in the Multi-Purpose Building gymnasium. Senior instructor in wildlife technology Joseph Hummer will serve as faculty marshal.

Michael S. Singer  will be the commencement speaker. He is a licensed physician and a senior translational medical expert with Novartis Biomedical Institutes in Massachusetts. He is also an associate medical director with Boston Scientific Corporation, and the chief scientific officer with HealthHonors Corporation.

Singer is a tutor in medicine at Harvard University, where he has also held faculty appointments as a clinical fellow. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Yale Alumni Fund. He has written numerous articles on his work, which have been published in journals across the country.

Michael Singer attended both DuBois Area High School and Penn State DuBois before receiving his education in biology and neuroscience at Yale.

Nearly 100 students will walk in the May commencement ceremony. Master’s degrees, baccalaureate degrees, and associate degrees will be awarded.
