IE students awarded Material Handling Education Foundation scholarship

Two Penn State industrial engineering students have been awarded Material Handling Education Foundation scholarships for the 2009-10 academic year.

Undergraduate Michael Stroker won the Spanco Honor Scholarship, valued at $5,000. Graduate student Daniel Miner won the Tiffin Metal Products Honor Scholarship, also valued at $5,000.

The Material Handling Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting material handling education.

This year, the foundation provided more than $100,000 in awards to 32 students pursuing degrees in material handling-related fields.

Since 1976, the foundation has awarded more than $2 million to support scholarships, faculty/student travel conference grants, instructional aid grants and fellowships.
