October 19, 2009

University Park, Pa. -- The U.S. health care system is facing a critical moment as demographic changes increase demand for health services at the same time that workforce shortages make it increasingly difficult to meet that demand in rural communities, urban communities and nearly everywhere in between. This is the subject of the next "Conversations from Penn State," a television program created by Penn State Public Broadcasting. After the program, Chris Calkins, who is the guest on the program, will host a live Web chat about the timely issue of health care in America.

Join the online conversation immediately following "Conversations From Penn State," which airs Thursday from 9 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Chris Calkins will answer questions online from 10 to 10:30 p.m. Questions may be submitted beginning at 9:45 p.m. at the "Conversations from Penn State" Web site, http://conversations.psu.edu/chat online.

With more than 25 years of experience in health care organizations and education, Chris Calkins brings an applied perspective to many of the health care challenges and policy questions facing the U.S. today.
