Play about a couple's struggles with Alzheimer's set for Jan. 14 to 16

“Full Moon Over Montmartre”, a play by Billie Doswell that shares the struggles of a couple facing the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s dementia, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. from Jan. 14 to 16 at the Hershey Area Playhouse, at 430 Cherry Drive in Hershey, Pa.

The performance is directed by James Thomas, produced by Skip Becker, and sponsored by the Department of Humanities and The Doctors Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine at the Penn State College of Medicine in conjunction with Hershey Area Playhouse and Country Meadows Retirement Communities.

A discussion will immediately follow the Jan. 16 performance and will include panelists Tim Lambert, anchor of WITF’s Morning Edition; Danny George, assistant professor of humanities in the Penn State College of Medicine and co-author of "The Myth of Alzheimer’s"; Dr. John Messmer, associate professor of family and community medicine, in the College of Medicine; representatives of the Pennsylvania Alzheimer's Association; and representatives of County Meadows Retirement Communities.
