Mont Alto 'celebrity chef' lunch to feature campus' chancellor

February 18, 2010

Mont Alto, Pa. -- Students are in for a chancellor’s treat on March 2 at the Mill Café on the Penn State Mont Alto campus. Their very own David Gnage, chancellor of Penn State Mont Alto, will serve two of his traditional family-favorite platters.

Donning a chef‘s hat and apron, Gnage will put a fun and healthy spin on the Mill’s lunch menu.

Gnage's specialties include "old grandpappy’s pickle burger”, a one-of-a-kind burger that can be handled and eaten like a hot dog. The burger patty, which features the family’s own seasoning, is wrapped around a quartered pickle, then deep-fried or baked. This event could be a student’s only chance to try it. The second entrée will feature Gnage’s “chancellorized stuffed shells" -- a low-fat, low-sodium pasta platter.

The event is a great opportunity for students to meet Gnage, as well as appreciate his unique skills in the kitchen. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Mill Café and is available to all students.
