University Park, Pa. — Penn State Beaver will construct a 4,000-square-foot addition to its gymnasium, increasing space for gym equipment and creating a new entrance, Office of Physical Plant officials reported to the University's Board of Trustees.

The addition will be constructed on the east side of the existing gym and become a focal point upon entering the campus. It will include a two-story area and a new main entrance that will link the building to the campus' main pedestrian walkway.

The project also includes renovations to the existing lobby, restrooms, classroom and office. A window system will maximize daylight and views of campus, as well as showcase activities in the gym's wellness center.

Site improvements will include handicap parking spaces, pedestrian walkways and landscaping along the north and east sides of the building and an outdoor plaza at the main entrance.
