Continuing Education is offering EIT exam

The Penn State Beaver Office of Continuing Education is offering the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) exam. Pennsylvania requires that all engineers, with or without a college degree, must pass the EIT exam as the first step toward licensure in the state. To be eligible to take the exam, participants must have four years of work in an engineering-related area.

Topics to be covered include mathematics, statics, mechanics of materials, dynamics, electrical circuits, materials science, chemistry and computers. There also will be a practice exam.

Class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, from Sept. 28, 2010 to March 29, 2011, at the PennDOT Office in Bridgeville, Pa.
