Worthington Scranton hosts second annual children's health fair

Health care service providers throughout northeast Pennsylvania will be at Penn State Worthington Scranton (PSWS) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, for the second annual Children's Health Fair.

Sponsored in part through a grant from the Robert Y. Moffat Family Charitable Trust and Penn State Worthington Scranton’s Nursing Program, the event will provide a variety of free health screenings, child health and safety demonstrations, and information on a wide variety of topics, as well as a "Fun With Reading" booth.
There also will be fun-filled educational activities for children and their parents and guardians to enjoy, such as a Fire Safety Smoke House and therapy dogs.
In addition, children attending the program will receive a free PSWS backpack and a first aid kit, as well as giveaways from the various participants that will be at the event.
Activities and booths currently scheduled to be at the event are child ID program; bike safety, pet safety/therapy dogs; hand-washing demonstration; healthy eating; scoliosis screening/back safety; injury prevention and exercise; dental hygiene; fire safety Smoke House; ambulance tour; sun and skin safety; community resources; height, weight and blood pressure screenings; and hearing screenings.
