Idowu receives alumni award

Peter Idowu, assistant dean for graduate studies at Penn State Harrisburg, was presented with The University of Toledo’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) 2012 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Award at a ceremony on April 19.

Each year, the university’s EECS department gives the award to recognize the achievements of an alumnus “who has been especially successful either in private business or in professional employment.”

Idowu received his doctorate in electrical engineering from The University of Toledo in 1989. In 1993, he became assistant professor of electrical engineering at Penn State Harrisburg. In addition to his current position, Idowu has served Penn State Harrisburg as associate professor of electrical engineering and director of the campus’ master’s programs in electrical engineering, engineering management, and engineering science.
