Mechanical engineer Zimmerman named to Homecoming Court

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Graham Zimmerman, a senior in mechanical engineering, is one of the 10 students nominated to the 2012 Homecoming Court.

Zimmerman, a Harrisburg native, said he always knew he was going to be a Penn Stater.

From the minute he stepped out of the car during his senior year of high school, feeling the pride as he toured campus the first time, learning about the highly regarded engineering program that Penn State offers, Zimmerman said "this place had it all."

Through his years on campus, Zimmerman has dedicated his time to numerous academic and special interest organizations across the University. He is the treasurer for Penn State Blue in the FACE acapella group, a member of the Audio Engineering Society and a resident assistant for Hamilton Hall. He is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Blue in the FACE's THON group.

In addition to serving on the Homecoming Court, Zimmerman said he's most looking forward to participating in the parade. Although he's already marched as a member of the Penn State Glee Club, he anticipates a slightly different experience this time around.

"I am incredibly humbled to represent the incredible Penn State College of Engineering in the 2012 Homecoming Court," he said. "To this day, Penn State has given me more than I could've ever expected."
