Pennsylvania forest vista

The concept of geologic influences on forest growth will be especially valuable in Pennsylvania, because it is a major producer of hardwood lumber, and the state has so much forest growing on its portion of the Appalachian Ridge and Valley Region, shown here. But the Ridge and Valley is a major portion of the forested Appalachian Mountains, so these findings should apply from southern New York to northern Georgia.
