Alex Lubin

Alex Lubin, Penn State professor of African American studies, comes from the University of New Mexico, where he served as professor in American Studies as well as former associate provost. He also served as the director of the Center for American Studies and Research at the American University of Beirut. Dr. Lubin earned his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota, and his research focuses on transnational American studies, African diaspora studies, and American in the Middle East. He is the author of "Geographies of Liberation: The Making of an Afro-Arab Political Imaginary" and "Romance and Rights: The Politics of Interracial Intimacy, 1945-1954."
