Lewis Young

Lewis Young was one of the first graduates of Penn State’s mining engineering program, receiving a bachelor of science degree in 1900. Young was an expert in mine mechanization, and he advised mines worldwide on how to implement new technologies. In 1960 he was named a Penn State Alumni Association Distinguished Alumnus in honor of his achievements.
