Hancock and Taylor nominated for ESPYS

Penn State women's volleyball's Micha Hancock (Edmond, Okla.) and wrestling's David Taylor(St. Paris, Ohio) have both been nominated for 2014 ESPY awards, presented by ESPN. Hancock is on the ballot for Best Female Collegiate Athlete, while Taylor is up for Best Male Collegiate Athlete.  Full story

Cagle named women's tennis head coach

Chris Cagle has been named the new head coach of the Penn State women's tennis team. Cagle served as interim head coach this past year, beginning in December. Cagle was an assistant coach with the Penn State men's tennis program prior to his appointment as interim mentor of the women's team.  Full story

Gondak named interim track and field/cross country head coach

John Gondak has been named the interim head coach for Penn State's cross country and track and field programs effective immediately following the departure of Beth Alford-Sullivan to the University of Tennessee. Gondak has been with the program for eight years and most recently served as the associate head coach.  Full story

Men's hockey unveils 2014-15 schedule

The Penn State men's hockey team's 2014-15 schedule is now available after the release of the team's 16-game non-conference slate, head men's hockey coach Guy Gadowsky announced Wednesday. In all, Penn State will play 36 regular-season games, including 18 at Pegula Ice Arena, during its third NCAA season.  Full story

Men's soccer welcomes eight newcomers

Back-to-back Big Ten title winners Penn State men's soccer announced the addition of eight newcomers for its 2014 team on Tuesday. Fifth-year head coach Bob Warming brings in four freshmen and four transfers to Happy Valley.  Full story

Pegula Ice Arena to host '90s Night skating event

Pegula Ice Arena will host three theme nights presented by The Pointe this summer with the first coming at 7 p.m. Friday, July 11: '90s Night. All students will be admitted free with a valid PSU ID. Discounted prices are available to the general public for the three theme nights at $5 for admission and $2 for skate rental.   Full story
