For the second year in a row, Penn State supporters have broken the University's record for fundraising results, committing $372,555,732 to its current campaign, "A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence" — an increase of 3.1% over last year.

Former Vice President for Development Peter B. Weiler, a longtime leader of the University's fundraising and alumni relations team, died on Wednesday, July 3.

Eberly College of Science and College of Engineering receive '52 alumnus bequest
Penn State students majoring in architectural engineering or physics may soon benefit from an estate gift totaling more than $890,000. The gift from M. Dean and Jean L. Underwood will establish two scholarships, one in physics and one in architectural engineering.

Wafa Family Open Doors Scholarship established at Scranton campus
Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan A. Wafa and his wife, Sahar Al Masri, have further solidified their commitment to the campus by establishing the Wafa Family Open Doors Scholarship for campus students.

Alumni, friends and colleagues have created the Dr. William Blair Leadership Fund to honor William Blair, outgoing director of the Richards Civil War Era Center at Penn State.

Oak Building named for the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation
The Penn State Board of Trustees approved the renaming of Oak Building on the University Park campus in recognition of a $4 million gift by the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation.

Alumni couple establishes chair in real estate at Smeal College of Business
Recognizing the importance of real estate in their lives, Jason Borrelli and his wife, Julie, a fellow Penn State graduate, recently made a $2 million commitment to Penn State to endow the Jason and Julie Borrelli Faculty Chair in Real Estate in the Smeal College of Business.

Grant will help Center for the Performing Arts enhance, study sense of community
The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State has been awarded a three-year grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The $600,000 grant will support initiatives that will more deeply integrate the performing arts with Penn State's research and pedagogical missions.
