Penn State student dies of COVID-19 complications in Allentown
Penn State has learned through family and friends that Juan Garcia, a 21-year-old College of Earth and Mineral Sciences student from Allentown, died June 30 of respiratory failure and COVID-19. His death is the first known Penn State student death related to the coronavirus.

Transportation Services has received University approval to resume on-campus operations beginning Monday, July 6. In addition, normal campus parking regulations will resume for all campus parking areas and users (faculty, staff, students, visitors) on July 6.

Scheduled maintenance of Nittany Lion Shrine completed
Scheduled maintenance work on the Nittany Lion Shrine at University Park, which began June 1, was completed today (July 2). Conservation work to preserve the historic landmark included repairs to the right ear and some of the claws, as well as cleaning and protective treatment.

Because of budget constraints, Penn State University Libraries will need to reduce spending on library collections by about $2.2 million for fiscal year 2020-21.
