Margo DelliCarpini named chancellor of Penn State Abington
Margo DelliCarpini, vice provost for strategic educational partnerships and dean of the College of Education and Human Development at The University of Texas at San Antonio, has been named chancellor of Penn State Abington, after a national search. DelliCarpini will start in her new role Jan. 4, 2021.

Results and dashboards available for Penn State Community Survey action planning
A summary report, findings and public results dashboards are available for the Penn State Community Survey. As part of ongoing efforts to build inclusive, diverse and equitable campus communities, unit leaders across the University are asked to create action plans for their areas that address gaps and build on existing strengths.

Penn State Great Valley joins Qlik Academic Program
Penn State Great Valley is expanding its reach in the data analytics world by joining the Qlik Academic Program -- a partnership that includes a software donation of the state-of-the-art data analytics platform Qlik Sense.

Abington student's 'blessing boxes' aid those in need in North Philadelphia
Abigail Preletz, a criminal justice major at Penn State Abington, decided to create a what she calls a "blessings box." She purchases personal care items such as masks, hand sanitizer, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, deodorant and snacks, pops them into airtight bags, and fills cardboard boxes that she distributes for free.

Brandywine students participate in 'Fiercest Competitor' case competition
Nearly 30 Penn State Brandywine students recently took part in PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC) Fiercest Competitor challenge — a strategic case competition that drives creativity, strategy and teamwork in a consulting landscape.

Brandywine campus to host virtual Penn State Day for prospective students
Prospective Penn State Brandywine students and their families are invited to attend Penn State Day, a virtual open house, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10.

All-Atlantic Summit to focus on inclusive ocean economies in Atlantic region
The All-Atlantic Summit will include the 6th High-Level Industry-Science-Government Dialogue on Atlantic Interactions (HLD) and technical sessions focusing on innovation to develop inclusive ocean economies in the Atlantic region. The event will be held online Oct. 5-9. Registration is free and open to the public.

Entrepreneurship training available for researchers through NSF short course
Academic researchers interested in exploring the commercial potential of their technological innovations are invited to apply to a free National Science Foundation Innovation Corps (NSF I-Corps) Virtual Short Course to be held Oct. 23 through Nov. 14. Applications are due Oct. 2.

The Rock Ethics Institute is now accepting applications for its 2021-22 Faculty Fellowship program. Faculty and established research scientists at all Penn State campuses are eligible to apply.

9/25: Penn State COVID-19 dashboard updated
Penn State released its preliminary coronavirus testing results for the period of Sept. 18 to 24 on its COVID-19 dashboard today (Sept. 25). Among students tested at the University Park campus whose test results have been received, Penn State received 418 positive results from its on-demand testing and 19 positive results from its random testing program.
