Penn State Abington campus closes following Governor’s decree

Penn State Abington campus will be closed from March 12 through April 3 following an announcement from Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf. During a news conference on March 12, Wolf, joined by Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine, announced aggressive action to slow the spread of coronavirus in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where Abington campus is located.  Full story

Penn State funds high-impact coronavirus research

The Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences — with support from the Materials Research Institute, the Social Sciences Research Institute, the Institute for Computational and Data Science and the Institutes for Energy and the Environment — has issued a request for proposals for projects that will utilize Penn State’s unique research strengths to contribute to the global coronavirus response.  Full story

“If you’re struggling, seeking help is absolutely a sign of strength, not weakness,” said Ben Locke, director of Counseling and Psychological Services. “And if you see something, do something. If you think a friend or peer is struggling in some way, check in, ask them how they are, or reach out for a consultation with a trusted source, like CAPS.”  Full story


Brandywinner of the Week: Kennesha Busby
