Story: Penn State announces plan, procedure for students to move out
With Gov. Tom Wolf's easing of stay-at-home restrictions in 24 Pennsylvania counties on May 8 and his plan to reopen 13 additional counties starting on May 15, Penn State students from areas not currently under travel restrictions who have personal belongings remaining in on-campus housing may begin scheduling times for moving out of their residence halls at campuses where restrictions have also eased, the University announced on May 9.

Zoom-bombings have been making headlines across the country this spring, and Penn State is no exception to the increase in security threats and breaches. To address these recent incidents in Zoom meetings, University-wide Zoom default setting changes will be implemented on May 11.

University officials, who have discouraged visits to campus and campus landmarks due to COVID-19, are increasing signage and social distancing guidance around the sites, as visitors continue to seek photographs in those areas and appear to be ignoring health care recommendations.

Board committee advances tuition adjustment for summer 2020 semester
The Penn State Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning today (May 7) advanced a plan to adjust tuition schedules for the summer 2020 semester due to the ongoing financial challenges many students and families are experiencing as a result of COVID-19 disruptions. The measure will go to the full board for a final vote on Friday, May 8.
