Penn State University Press and Penn State University Libraries are partnering for two author series events in 2021. The first event, held online on April 14, features Judith Giesberg, author and editor of "Emilie Davis's Civil War: The Diaries of a Free Black Woman in Philadelphia, 1863-1865," and will be moderated by Kathryn Yahner, Penn State University Press editor.

Libraries' 2021 Minter Lectureship in Conservation features Cathleen Baker
Penn State University Libraries' Preservation, Conservation and Digitization Department will host the second annual William D. Minter Lectureship in Conservation on April 29. The virtual event will feature a conversation with Cathleen A. Baker, paper and book conservator, publisher of The Legacy Press and conservation librarian emerita from the University of Michigan Library. A virtual tour of the University Libraries' Conservation Centre will be held on April 27.

Data science talk to focus on COVID-19 database available to Penn State faculty
At a Data Science Community talk on April 15, Penn State researchers can learn about the recently launched National COVID Cohort Collaborative, which contains a trove of COVID-19 data, updated frequently by health care systems around the United States.
