Ann Clements taught the "Island of the Long White Cloud: Music and Dance of the Maori of New Zealand" session, focusing on the indigenous people of New Zealand, the Maori. Staff heard the language, viewed the landscape, heard the stories and learned to sing and dance the traditional Maori arts.

Staff members explored speaking with a British dialect and learning some resources for listening and learning various dialects and accents. Participants looked at film clips and listened to some native speakers. Everyone had a chance to practice with each other and for the group.

This ceramic surface decorating workshop was an introduction to surface techniques used on wet clay. Staff explored several processes such as sgraffito, inlay, masking, water etching, marbling, carving, and adding texture to soft clay. Many beautiful ceramic artworks have been achieved using these simple methods. They made and decorated clay plates.
