The engineering teams are judged by faculty and industry professionals, with the best projects receiving coveted Design Excellence Awards.
The showcase was organized by the Learning Factory, a University-industry partnership at Penn State that helps educate the next generation of engineers using state-of-the-art facilities for design, prototyping and fabrication.IMAGE: Penn StateEngineering Student Showcase 4
Mechanical engineering senior Joe Codichini, right, and his teammate Ruomeng Pang, reveal the inner workings of a micro-hydro power demonstration and training facility. The team's project was executed under the auspices of Kansas State faculty member J. Garth Thompson, who plans on using the team's project to help rebuild the University of Kabul's engineering program in Afghanistan.
