Rally in the Valley 2009-1
Freshman Sasa Borovnjak sinks a foul shot late in the second half, increasing Penn State's lead over Slippery Rock to 75-40. The Nittany LIons ultimately won the contest, 82-51. The game was the team's first and only exhibition game of the season. The game was followed by Rally in the Valley, to pump up fans for Saturday's football game vs. Ohio State.

The Lionettes performed near the start of Rally in the Valley at the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday night, Nov. 6. This was the first Rally in the Valley to be held in the Jordan Center, and it immediately followed the men's basketball exhibition game vs. Slippery Rock.

Jared, who gained celebrity by losing a large amount of weight eating at the same establishment each day and then appearing in commercials for them, also made an appearance at Rally in the Valley.

No pep rally would be complete without an appearance by the Penn State Blue Band. They marched into the Bryce Jordan Center with their traditional chant, "Oh-ooh, Oh-ooh, Oh-ooh, Let's Go State!"
