LION Walk is an annual welcoming event that promotes safety, community cohesion and neighborhood relations between students living in borough neighborhoods and the permanent residents of the area.

Penn State President Graham B. Spanier along with borough officials and Penn State UPUA student representatives visited with students during the fourth annual LION Walk on Aug. 23. LION Walk is a jointly sponsored neighborhood program where groups of students, police officers and senior University and borough officials visit students living in houses in the neighborhoods of State College. The goal of LION Walk is to foster better neighborhood relations between students and permanent residents.

The Nittany Lion participated in the fourth annual LION Walk on Aug. 23. The LION Walk is a welcoming event that promotes safety, community cohesion and neighborhood stability. During the walk, small groups of students, police officers and senior University and borough officials walked door-to-door through downtown neighborhoods where there is a mix of students and permanent residents.

The fourth annual Living In One Neighborhood (LION) Walk took place on Aug. 23 throughout the State College borough. During LION Walk small groups of students, borough and University officials walk door-to-door to chat with students living in houses located in some of the permanent neighborhoods in the community. The event is designed to promote good neighborhood relations between students and permanent residents.
