Office of Physical Plant staff prepared an American elm tree for removal on Thursday, June 16, near Walker Building on Penn State's University Park campus. The tree is one of 16 slated for removal this summer due to Dutch elm disease.

This summer, 16 elms will be removed from the University Park campus due to Dutch elm disease. Since 2007, nearly 100 of the campus' approximately 293 American elms have been lost to Dutch elm disease and elm yellows.
