The registration table was busy at Penn State York's annual Explore the Worlds program, held March 6. The program, geared toward local high school and middle school students, featured the "worlds" of engineering, science and information sciences and technology. Spencer Miller, a student from Spring Grove High School, loads his bridge into the testing apparatus at the bridge building competition at Penn State York March 6. Miller's bridge weighed 18.1 grams and held 41 pounds, which earned him third prize in the contest. The bridges were tested until they broke.

Teamwork was key in designing and building a bridge using LEGO-type blocks and a limited amount of masking tape. Once constructed, the bridges were weighed and then tested to destruction just for fun. The activities were part of the annual "Explore the Worlds" event held at Penn State York on March 6.
