John Nichols is professor emeritus and Senior Fellow at the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism in the College of Communications at Penn State.

Nichols’ primary research is on telecommunications in Latin America, especially in regards to Cuban communications and the U.S. government propaganda station, Television Marti. He is considered a specialist in international communications, comparative media systems and telecommunications policy. Nichols has acted as a Congressional witness, led a delegation to Cuba, and is regarded as an expert on Cuban issues.
