Film Screening: 'The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind'

Penn State's Sustainability Institute will present the second film in its Limits of the Imagination Film Series: Chiwetel Ejiofor's 'The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind' at 7 p.m. on Oct. 16. Based on a true story, this moving film about a family in Malawi struggling to cope with drought and violence raises profound issues about access to education, climate change, and sustainability.

The screening is free and open to the public, and will take place at the HUB 132 Flex Theatre on the University Park campus.

"Limits of the Imagination" is a film series that explores the complex, global challenges related to climate change, poverty and social inequality through diverse, powerful stories of overcoming limits and changing perspectives on the complex intersections of people, society and planetary systems. Incredible people, every day, face questions about their future, safety, survival and identity. Despite adversity, they see possibilities, not limits. From adversity, they take action.

Join the Sustainability Institute at Penn State as we explore limits to sustainability and whether these limits may, in fact, be imaginary! A complete list of films can be found at intersections.psu.edu.
