Police investigating latest attempted crime involving silver Audi sedan

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Police are seeking additional information on an incident that occurred early Saturday morning along Shortlidge Road on campus involving an attempt to coerce two female pedestrians into a silver Audi sedan.

At approximately 3:15 a.m. it was reported that a silver four-door Audi sedan traveling southbound on Shortlidge Road stopped near McKean Road and attempted to lure two females into the vehicle. When the women did not comply, two African American males exited the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle and walked toward the females. Another vehicle was approaching the area, and the suspects fled south in their vehicle on Shortlidge Road toward College Avenue.

The two suspects are described as African American males in their mid-20s.

A similar vehicle and suspect descriptions were reported today for their potential involvement in an attempted robbery near the intersection of Bigler and Pollock roads on campus. The attempted robbery was reported earlier this morning and published in a crime alert, which prompted the two female victims to come forward at this time. While police cannot yet confirm if the two incidents are related, they are noting the general descriptions as similar in nature.

Anyone with information pertaining to either of these incidents or other incidents are urged to contact University Police at (814) 863-1111. Anonymous tips can be submitted at: http://police.psu.edu/report-crime
