UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A pair of WPSU sports productions won 2020 Mid-Atlantic Emmy awards during a virtual ceremony held on Saturday, Sept. 19, from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

“Unrivaled: The Penn State Football Story” and “The Penn State Basketball Story” won regional Emmy awards in the post-produced or edited sports program category. WPSU — a Penn State Outreach service — has won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy award for the seventh straight year and, with the two wins, has claimed 29 regional Emmy awards since 1981.

“It is an incredible honor to be recognized with two Mid-Atlantic Emmy awards,” said Mindy McMahon, executive producer of both programs and WPSU’s director of production. “These productions are truly a collaborative effort between the WPSU production team and the football and basketball programs, and this recognition is a testament to all of the hard work and dedication that goes into creating both of these shows.”
