Penn State and State College Borough have been selected to co-host the 2019 International Town & Gown Association’s City and University Relations Conference from May 19-22, 2019. The annual conference brings higher education and government officials together for collaborative discussion on strengthening town-gown partnerships and communities.

State College again ranked third-best college town in U.S. for students

State College, home to Penn State's University Park campus, has again been ranked third-best among college towns for college students by the nonprofit economic research organization American Institute for Economic Research (AIER). The rankings appeared in AIER's recently released 2013-14 College Destinations Index (CDI), an annual quantitative ranking of the nation’s 75 best towns and cities to live in if you’re a college student. The index takes into consideration such aspects as academic environment, quality of life and professional opportunity.

First Thursday State College will celebrate the arts on June 4 with a variety of exhibits, performances, demonstrations and activities. Parking is free that evening at all municipal street meters, the parking lots on Fraser Street and on Beaver Avenue and Allen Street (across from Municipal Building), and the McAllister parking deck. Most participating venues will be marked by sidewalk posters. All events are open to the public and admission to First Thursday events is free.
