Penn State’s seventh annual Exercise is Medicine on Campus week will feature a variety of initiatives and events Oct. 8-12, including a “Class Challenge,” an expanded EIM Everywhere Alumni Initiative, and three Mobile Exercise is Medicine trips to Penn State Hazleton, Harrisburg and Hershey.
Exercise is Medicine (EIM) on Campus at Penn State is expanding its focus beyond students to include employee health and wellness. To kick off the new EIM for Employees initiative, EIM and the Penn State women's golf team will host a "Know your Health" health fair from 4 to 6 p.m. April 17 at the Penn State Golf Courses.
Exercise is Medicine Week 2017, set for Oct. 9-13, will include the opening of the Center for Fitness and Wellness' new space in the IM Building, as well as campus-wide events and activities focused on fitness, health and wellness.
Penn State’s Exercise is Medicine on Campus program has received gold level status from the American College of Sports Medicine. Penn State is among 60 colleges and universities that will be recognized for their EIMOC programs. The awards will be given as part of the 2017 Exercise is Medicine World Congress on May 31.
The Excellence in Management program, a joint offering of Penn State Human Resources and Penn State Executive Programs, is now accepting applications. The registration deadline is May 19.
To spread the message that exercise is medicine every day and not just during EiM week, event organizers have invited university clubs and organizations focused on fitness and healthy lifestyles to share their resources and information throughout the week. Students will also participate in a fitness challenge against Michigan State University and have an opportunity to attend a free yoga session on Old Main lawn.

The Department of Kinesiology and Kinesiology Club are gearing up for their 4th annual Exercise is Medicine (EiM) week, which will kick off Oct. 12. Events include outdoor exercise stations at high visibility sites, exercise competitions, prize drawings, fitness testing, a “skip the elevator-take the stairs” signage campaign, and an educational booth at the HUB-Robeson Center.
