ALTOONA, Pa. — In the latest installment of "Notes from the Allegheny Front," Noah Wheland, a senior in Penn State Altoona's Environmental Studies program, remembers an encounter with a coyote on a mountain near his home that holds many memories. "Notes from the Allegheny Front" is an audio blog by Todd Davis, professor of English and environmental studies at Penn State Altoona.

Davis is the author of six full-length collections of poetry — "Native Species," "Winterkill," "In the Kingdom of the Ditch," "The Least of These," "Some Heaven," and "Ripe" — as well as of a limited-edition chapbook, "Household of Water, Moon, and Snow."
