UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The first-ever Equity and Inclusion Carnival is slated for 3-5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, on the HUB-Robeson Center lawn at the University Park campus.

Students, staff and faculty are welcome to come celebrate the diversity of the Penn State student body with food, fun and inflatables. The goal, according to organizers, is to celebrate and affirm the diversity of Penn State students; create opportunities for community building; increase access to diversity, equity and inclusion resources, services and opportunities; and facilitate intentional opportunities to engage second-year students.

The entire campus community is invited to attend the event, which features a special initiative to include second-year students in hopes of connecting them with information about diversity, equity and inclusion resources on campus. All second-year students at University Park are invited to attend this carnival and visit the second-year engagement booth. Second-year students who attend the carnival will have an opportunity to participate in a private visit to the Old Main bell tower at a later date.

The carnival is organized by Student Orientation and Transition Programs, in collaboration with student organizations and diversity, equity and inclusion units throughout Student Affairs, Educational Equity, and the Graduate School.

The Equity and Inclusion Carnival is a part of Welcome Week activities designed to help new and returning students transition to campus life. Learn more at welcomeweek.psu.edu.
