Penn State Smeal announces new chair, professorships, and fellowships

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Charles H. Whiteman, dean of the Penn State Smeal College of Business, has announced the following new professorships, fellowships, and chair positions within the college:

·      Lisa Bolton, a faculty member in the Marketing Department, has been awarded the Jonas H. Anchel Professorship in Business Administration.

·      Kimberly Cornaggia, a faculty member in the Finance Department, has been awarded the Louis R. and Virginia A. Benzak Professorship of Finance.

·      Terry Harrison, a faculty member in the Supply Chain and Information Systems Department, has been awarded the Surma Chair in Business.

·      Meg Meloy, a faculty member and the chair of the Marketing Department, has been awarded the David H. McKinley Professorship of Business Administration.

·      Vilmos Misangyi, a faculty member and the chair of the Management and Organization Department, has been awarded the Earl P. Strong Executive Education Professorship in Business Administration.

·      Liang Peng, a faculty member in the Risk Management Department, has been awarded the Philip H. Sieg Professorship of Business Administration.

·      Jiro Yoshida, a faculty member in the Risk Management Department, has been awarded the Jeffery L. and Cindy M. King Faculty Fellowship in Business.

According to Whiteman, professorships and other named positions provide the opportunity for faculty to advance their teaching, research, scholarship, and public service work while supporting the mission of the Smeal College of Business.

“These positions are also powerful tools for recruiting and retaining top educators and scholars in their respective fields,” he said. “They are helping our faculty bring their ideas to fruition through impactful research and, ultimately, benefit our students in the classroom.”
