UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Libraries is offering welcome events at University Park and across the Commonwealth Campuses as a way for students new to the Libraries to familiarize themselves with the spaces, faces, services and resources offered. Event details, including dates, times and hours, will vary from campus to campus.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 23-25, University Park’s Pattee Library and Paterno Library will provide assistance from a welcome tent, offering wayfinding around campus, information about study spots within the Libraries, and “ask me anything” staffing for library questions. Starbucks coupons and other giveaways will be available each day, while supplies last.

At all campus locations, food offerings will be individually wrapped or pre-packaged and meant to be consumed outside or in designated eating spaces, and masking guidelines will be followed.

"The University Libraries looks forward to welcoming our students back to our spaces and to collaborating with our community to create and sustain a safe and healthy environment for all,” said Rebecca Waltz, University Libraries’ interim associate dean for Learning and Undergraduate Services.

“I am excited to see all of our students back on campus and looking forward to being at our welcome tent, in person, with our community. Although you won't be able to see it — because I'll be wearing my mask to help keep our community safe — I will have a big smile on my face!”
