UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Libraries’ locations University-wide have posted their fall semester hours of operation effective when classes begin on Monday, Aug. 23.
Pattee Library and Paterno Library hours for fall 2021 are 8 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays, noon to 9 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to midnight Sundays on the University Park campus.
During Labor Day weekend, Pattee Library and Paterno Library will have modified hours, closing at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3; operating noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and closed on Labor Day, Sept. 6. While self-service pickup of requested items has concluded at this time, Penn State faculty, staff and graduate students at the University Park campus are invited to consider using the Libraries’ Office Delivery Service, which directs requested materials to departmental office addresses via campus mail.
In addition, the Libraries’ Media and Technology Support Services at Wagner Annex on the University Park campus is resuming standard equipment rental periods for students and instructors beginning Aug. 23. Currently, its Patron Portal requires a reservation by those wishing to borrow equipment, and walk-in service is available. Media Tech’s hours are 7:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, closed on Labor Day.
Library hours at University Park branch locations, Media Tech, and at Commonwealth Campuses vary by location. All library hours are available online. Some locations continue to offer curbside pickup service.
Changes to library hours based on inclement weather or other urgent conditions will be listed on each location’s webpage. Visitors are advised to check a location’s hours prior to visiting, should scenarios such as severe weather or changing COVID-19 conditions impact local service areas.
In alignment with Penn State’s indoor masking requirement, all visitors must wear a mask when visiting any Penn State library. Visitors should only eat in Libraries spaces specifically identified as designated eating spaces, which includes the Starbucks at Paterno Library.
