"Alumni Updates" highlights career achievements by College of Education alumni.

  • Shari (Fackler) Capriola, a 1988 graduate of the College of Education, retired in June 2021, after 31 years of teaching at the elementary level. While enrolled in the college, she did her student teaching in Chichester, England, at East Wittering Primary School. After graduation, Capriola was hired by the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District. In 1998, she was chosen as an Outstanding Alumni for Teaching from Penn State.
  • Elizabeth (Beth) Clark, an analyst in the administrative & financial services division of the Office of Physical Plant at Penn State’s University Park campus, has been honored by APPA with its 2021 Meritorious Service Award. APPA, previously known as the Association of Physical Plant Administrators, promotes leadership in educational facilities for professionals seeking to build their careers, transform their institutions and elevate the value and recognition of facilities in education.
  • Robert Kuech, who received a doctorate from the College of Education in 1999, was elected vice-chair of the faculty senate at the University of Southern Maine.
  • Roger Williams, an alumnus of the Higher Education program, retired executive director of the Penn State Alumni Association and affiliate associate professor of higher education, recently published “Frederick Watts and the Founding of Penn State” through Penn State University Press.
