UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Applications are now being accepted to the Undergraduate Research Ambassadors program, which works to promote undergraduate research at all campuses and within all academic disciplines at Penn State.

Organized by Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Mentoring, the ambassadors program is a volunteer opportunity for undergraduates who are passionate about promoting undergraduate research at Penn State and helping others find their path.

Ambassadors will receive training in the fall semester so that they are prepared to participate in panel discussions and events, visit classes and student organizations and meet individually with other undergraduates to help them get involved with research at their home campus throughout the spring semester. The program provides the opportunity for students to gain mentorship experience if they’ve not previously had the chance to do so, as well as develop their communication and presentation skills.

Students interested in becoming ambassadors for the 2021-22 school year should visit urfm.psu.edu for more information and to find a link to the application. Applications are encouraged from all campuses and areas of study. The deadline to apply is Aug. 31.

Undergraduate Research Ambassadors is also accepting invitations to present to classes and organizations. A presentation can be requested here.

Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Mentoring is part of the Penn State Office of Undergraduate Education, the academic administrative unit that provides leadership and coordination for University-wide programs and initiatives in support of undergraduate teaching and learning at Penn State.
