UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A new Penn State sign-in process has replaced WebAccess for accessing secure University online applications such as Canvas, LionPATH and Workday.

The new Penn State sign-in screen looks different from WebAccess, but its functionality remains the same. Account holders should sign in with their user ID followed by the organization identifier “@psu.edu” (e.g., abc123@psu.edu), enter their password and complete two-factor authentication (2FA) if enrolled in 2FA.

This change is the result of a recent upgrade to the University’s single sign-on (SSO) technology. SSO allows Penn State Account holders to sign in to secure online applications with a single user ID and password.

The technology behind the new Penn State Sign In is provided by Microsoft to manage and secure user identities. The upgrade will improve security, reduce risk and maximize the value of the University’s existing contract with Microsoft.
