Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute released the latest episode of its Engage Podcast highlighting one of its Translational Research Training Program (TL1) scholars, Brianna Evans. Evans discusses her love of research, her passion for diversity in science and her research project as part of Sue Grigson’s lab.
The National Institutes of Health-funded Translational Research Training Program (TL1) supports predoctoral graduate and medical students seeking advanced full-time clinical and translational research training. Graduate students in the program expand their major course of study by completing a dual-title doctorate in clinical and translational sciences or a graduate certificate in translational science. Medical students complete a master's degree in public health or clinical research. Scholars are selected each year through a competitive application process. Applications typically open in January and are available on the institute’s website.
