The LionPATH system will be unavailable to users due to scheduled maintenance from 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 11, to 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 13.

During this downtime, the LionPATH Development and Maintenance Organization (LDMO) will be performing a required system upgrade as well as rolling out updates for the user experience, including changes to the navigation and visual appearance.

“I recognize taking an important system such as LionPATH offline for any period of time will impact students, faculty and staff who use the system on a regular basis,” said Misty Patcyk, LDMO director. “The downtime is necessary to deliver these important service updates to the system. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we perform this required system maintenance and improve the user experience.”

Impact for student users

With the update, the classic version of Student Center will no longer be available. All students will use the Student Home Base navigation that was introduced in the July 2019 system upgrade. Previously, the update was optional for those who chose to utilize the old interface.

Students are encouraged to use Penn State Go or navigate to the LionPATH website at lionpath.psu.edu in a browser when accessing LionPATH on their mobile device. As part of the required system upgrade, existing use of the legacy Campus Mobile application is being retired.

Impact for staff

The most significant change staff will notice is the vendor's removal of the classic Main Menu and breadcrumbs, replaced by an enhanced navigation bar. This enhanced navigation, sometimes referred to as "Navigator" or "NavBar" and accessed via the 3-bar "hamburger" icon in the top right of a user's screen, will allow the user to keep track of what page they are on by highlighting the page title within a nested menu that unfolds as a user clicks on a page.
