'Extended Sunset' at Eisenhower Auditorium coming to an end in June

June 02, 2021

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The dramatic sunset that has illuminated the exterior of Eisenhower Auditorium since October 2019 will come to a close this month, and members of the campus and local communities are invited to enjoy the final days and nights of the window display by artist and Clearfield native Adam Frelin.

"Extended Sunset" features a backlit Pennsylvania sunset inside the six large, vertical windows at the front of Eisenhower Auditorium. Frelin’s work is one of eight commissioned art pieces installed at high-impact locations across Penn State campuses as part of the University’s Campus Arts Initiative, funded by a Strategic Plan Seed Grant.

Frelin worked with the Center for the Performing Arts to conceptualize, design and install this site-specific visual artwork. The installation will be taken down starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 17.
