UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Administrative Fellows Program offers Penn State faculty and staff the opportunity to work with senior University officers to gain knowledge and experiences pertaining to the challenges of leadership in the academic community.

For the 2021-22 academic year, the Administrative Fellows are:

  • Carrie Jackson, professor of German and linguistics, College of the Liberal Arts. Her mentor will be Nicholas Jones, Penn State executive vice president and provost.
  • Erica Smithwick, distinguished professor of geography; associate director, Institutes of Energy and the Environment; director, Ecology Institute; and director, Center for Landscape Dynamics, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. Her mentor will be Lora Weiss, senior vice president for Research.
  • Kristin Sykes, assistant director of administrative and financial services, Penn State Office of Physical Plant. Her mentor will be O. Richard Bundy, vice president for Development and Alumni Relations.

The Administrative Fellows Program enables participants to strengthen their administrative talents and qualifications by working with a Penn State leader in a mentoring relationship. Fellows increase their understanding of the contexts within which decisions are made and of the work done in units across the University.

More information about the program is available from the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs.
