UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — What happens behind the scenes at the University Libraries’ Eberly Family Special Collections Library? For a first-hand glimpse of what student researchers have been working on this semester, join Special Collections student employees for a Research Coffee Hour: Student Employee Showcase.
Students will hold a lively discussion and Q&A to reveal the ins-and-outs of working in a special collections library, with a focus on the projects they've worked on during the 2020-21 academic year.
The event will take place virtually at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 26, via Zoom, and is open to all Penn State students, faculty, staff and community members at this link.
The discussion will begin with a brief introduction and overview of the Special Collections Library, followed by a question-and-answer session between student researchers Tameara Moore, a graduate assistant supporting operations and exhibits for the Blockson collection; Zachary Bigalke, the Malloy graduate assistant for the University Archives, supporting sports archives initiatives; and Cameron Cook, Stelts-Filippelli intern supporting the exhibition program in the Special Collections Library. The students will each detail their projects in short presentations and answer a few questions from a moderator about their experiences working with special collections and archival materials.
