Penn State Harrisburg to host 51st Earth Day celebration April 22

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — The annual Earth Day celebration returns to the Penn State Harrisburg campus Thursday, April 22, with a full day of planned activities and events.

A Sustainable Item Pickup event and PAC-a-Plant will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Vartan Plaza and a virtual Environmental Discussion Panel will be presented at 12:30 p.m. via Zoom. The Office of Student Life and International Programs will offer two hybrid in-person and virtual painting sessions at 4 and 6 p.m., and the day will conclude with PAC bingo on Zoom at 9 p.m. Additionally, artwork will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Olmsted atrium.

A special showing of Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax” will be presented on Sunday, April 25.

Earth Day programming is sponsored by The Office of Student Life and International Programs, the Capital College Honors Program, the Student Government Association, and the Programming and Activities Committee. Registration for in-person sessions should be completed on Engage.
