Penn State Behrend’s athletics teams have resumed intercollegiate and exhibition play, with increased COVID-19 testing of student-athletes and restrictions on attendance at all home events. The college’s teams are abiding by all NCAA guidelines regarding the safe conduct of sports during the pandemic.
ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend men’s volleyball team rallied from a two-set deficit to beat Penn State Altoona and earn a spot in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference tournament, which begins April 7.
Colin Dedert, a senior from Pittsburgh, had 18 kills, eight digs, two aces and two blocks. Alex Jackson, a freshman from Cochranton, had 34 assists.

Men’s track and field
Samuel Hetrick, a freshman from New Bethlehem, won the high jump at the Dave Labor Invitational at Slippery Rock, clearing a height of 2.00 meters. Jack Georgetson, a senior from Aliquippa, won the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.36 meters.
Women’s track and field
Jessie Johnson, a junior from Edinboro, placed third in the 5,000-meter run at the Dave Labor Invitational, finishing in 21:06.97. Haley Felton, a freshman from Midway, placed ninth in the javelin, making a 29.68-meter throw.
Men’s swimming and diving
Penn State Behrend 81, Wells 11
Cole Dombrosky, a senior from Mount Pleasant, won the 50 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. The 200 medley relay team — Rob Thompson, Luc Tomasello, Gibson Hoce and Owen Valasek — also won, finishing in 1:51.24.
Women’s swimming and diving
Penn State Behrend 70, Wells 34
The Lions won 11 events at the Schwartz Athletic Center in Aurora, New York.
Natalia Santilli, a freshman from Bridgeville, won the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. Valerie Grimes, a junior from Farmington, won the 50 and 100 butterfly races. Aliya Webster, a freshman from Bradford, won the 50 and 100 breaststroke sprints.
Men’s golf
Second (of four teams) at the James Bowen Spring Invitational
The Lions missed the top spot by one stroke. Alex Pol, a junior from Erie, and Jake Caldwell, a freshman from Belle Vernon, tied for second in a field of 26, carding an 83. Michael Dinner, a senior from Erie, placed third, with an 84.
Men’s tennis
Mt. Aloysius 6, Penn State Behrend 3
Michael Brudy, a junior from Gibsonia, and Belden Tuttle, a senior from Fairview, won at No. 2 doubles, with a score of 8-4. They are undefeated in doubles play this season. Tuttle also won at No. 5 singles.
Women’s tennis
Penn State Behrend 8, Mt. Aloysius 1
Marissa Bowles, a senior from South Orange, New Jersey, and Jada Donatien, a junior from Brooklyn, New York, won at No. 1 doubles, with a score of 8-6. Audra Carnes, a freshman from Fairview, and Erica Jasinski, a sophomore from Fairview, won at No. 2 doubles, finishing 8-0.
