ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona is once again participating in EcoChallenge, an online sustainability competition.

Through April 21, Penn State Altoona will compete against other colleges and universities, including Dickinson College, West Chester University, and Penn State World Campus, to see which one can make and follow through with the most behavior-centered commitments to sustainability. Last year, Penn State Altoona placed fourth.

EcoChallenge -- a web program designed to educate, identify, and easily assess commitments -- is a simple way to take measurable action on the issues you care about. Choose from a wide range of options dealing with waste, food, water, energy, nature and more. A few weeks of commitment, learning, and action could add up to a lifetime of positive change for participants, Penn State Altoona, and the world.

Students, faculty and staff may join the Penn State Altoona team by completing the following steps:

  • Sign up online
  • Make your personal commitments
  • Recruit others
  • Check-in when you complete commitments
  • Comment, engage and encourage others

More information is available on the EcoChallenge site.
